Passenger car
Low-emission and zero-emission zone for the passenger car
The Dutch low-emission zones for passenger cars have largely been abolished: those of Haarlem, Leiden and Maastricht no longer exist. Abroad much does apply to the car: Crit'Air in France, the Umweltzone in Germany, LEZs and ZTLs. Zonetoegang tells you per number plate where your car may enter.
Hardly any in the Netherlands, all the more abroad
In the Netherlands a low-emission or zero-emission zone hardly affects the ordinary passenger car any more; the zones target trucks and vans. Cross the border and the car often needs a Crit'Air sticker (France) or an Umweltplakette (Germany), and LEZs and ZTLs apply. Zonetoegang shows per number plate the verdict and the official place to order the sticker.
Per number plate, not per vehicle category
Enter the number plate and Zonetoegang fetches the vehicle from the RDW: Euro class, CO2 class, fuel, weight, vehicle type and date of first admission. Every zone then gets a verdict for exactly that vehicle: may enter, may enter until a date, or no access. You see it straight away on the map.
Abroad too: Crit'Air, Umweltzone, LEZ and ZTL
Low-emission zones exist across Europe: Crit'Air zones in France, Umweltzonen in Germany, LEZs in Belgium and the United Kingdom, ZTLs in Italy. Zonetoegang covers 28 countries and more than 1,100 zones from official sources, with the official place to order a vignette or register the vehicle.
Only official sources, updated daily
Zonetoegang uses only government sources: NDW, RDW, Rijkswaterstaat, the Dutch government (milieuzones.nl and opwegnaarzes.nl), officielebekendmakingen.nl and the authorities of other countries. A new traffic decision about a zone is included the next morning.
